I opened this envelope from the NYC DOT expecting a summons regarding the now-$100+ parking ticket plus fees that I’ve been fighting for over a year.
Instead, I found a fucking check for the completely arbitrary sum of $13!
Bumpin’ in My Honda Accord: Sonic Youth – “Stones”
I’m going to admit something that it has taken me years to ’fess up to: I don’t like Sonic Youth very much. There, I said it. I pretended to be a fan all through the ’90s, but really I just had Daydream Nation on casette that someone gave me for my birthday in middle school, and though I wanted to, I could never really get into it.
This is not to say Sonic Youth didn’t have great songs. This is one of my all time favorites:
